Beckhoff
Beckhoff implements open automation systems based on PC-compatible control technology. The product spectrum includes the Industrial PC, Fieldbus Components, Drive Technology and automation software. Product ranges that can be used as separate components or integrated into a complete control system are available for all sectors. Components and system solutions from Beckhoff are used in a wide range of applications all around the world.
The field devices can be wired using the Beckhoff Bus Terminal system on site where the signals occur. Installation and wiring of the Beckhoff Bus Terminal is thus simple and compact like that of a standard terminal block. The Bus Terminal can be connected to the controller by connecting an Ethernet connection module.

Microsoft Terminal Server, Citrix and Powerfuse
TMS has many satisfied customers using Terminal Server solutions. Often in combination with control products like Citrix and Powerfuse.
Thin Client
Thin client is a synonym for the Net PC or the network computer (NC), personal computers for businesses that are designed to be centrally-managed, configured with only essential equipment, and devoid of CD-ROM players, diskette drives, and expansion slots (and therefore lower in cost). The term derives from the fact that small computers in networks tend to be clients of local area network and other servers. A Thin Clients can be installed in just a few minutes and the life time is much longer then a desktop PC.

PC as a Client
You could also use a PC as a Client. Certain program’s can be locally installed on the PC, while other programs are being installed on the Terminal Server. Terminal Server has a sets of minimum demands for a Client. It is possible that an 6 year old PC which is not able to run certain programs is capable for being a Client.
Advantages:
- Remarkably high decrease in control costs
- Employees can easily shift work places
- From every location employees can make use of an Terminal Server
- A high diversity of computers capable of connecting them to a Terminal Server
- Central control of users and configurations
- Distant support is easy
- Thin Client errors can be solved in a matter of minutes
- Some Thin Clients do not even make noise
- You could use old PC’s and modern software
Truck Status- and GPS information
TMS has already several working interfaces with well established companies in the fleetmanagement area, like KPN/ Tensing, C-Track and Sycada. These partners have many years experience in the implementation of these systems.
The truck mixers send status- and GPS location information to a central database at the office. The software at the office and the database has a direct connection with TMS conactiVe Management.
The concepts contain all components that are necessary to control fleets: the software, the hardware, the maps and control services. A configuration consists of a home base system and the fleet control system that communicates via mobile data communication, mostly GPRS/RAM connected.
Home base
On the home base, the communication server is the hart of the system. This server takes care of all mobile (data) communication between the home base and the fleet. Workstations are connected to the Communication Server, this gives the employees an insight into the place and status of each vehicle in the fleet. The communication server is connected with conactiVe Management which processes all statuses. Besides online monitoring functions, the home base software also often offers the possibility of flexible operational – and management reports.
The vehicles
The process of tracking truck mixers is rather simple. The first step in this process is loading the truck mixer with the right quality concrete and with the right measurements. After the loading, the truck mixer leaves to the planed construction site. After arriving at the construction site the driver sometimes has to wait before he can pour. After pouring, the truck mixer leaves the construction site and arrives after some time back at the plant. Every step in this process is a status notification relevant for the planning. The dispatcher can see the vehicles on a map. Through color codes the status is visible in TMS conactiVe Management, and is used by the optimizer to reschedule if needed.
